Past Sam Childers (Gerard Butler) is bad. Formerly he was a drug dealer, but since he knew the Lord, his life changed instantly. Sam then devoted his life to God. People know him as the Machine Gun Preacher. Before devoting his life to God, Sam Childers is a biker who is familiar with the life force and firearms. Because persuasion Lynn (Michelle Monaghan), his wife, Sam Childers started to pray and be close to God. At one point, Sam Childers called to come help set up an orphanage in Sudan.

Not just fighting establish an orphanage in Sudan, Sam Childers intervened even into battle against the Lord's Resistance Army. If the first Sam Childers use firearms for crime, is now the man from Pennsylvania is utilizing its expertise with firearms for a good cause.
